Temprana Reflex Therapy is a method used for rehabilitation of children and adults with neurological and genetic disorders, developed by Lone Sorensen (article on Temprana Therapy on Reni Jusis’ portal “ekomama”).
Temprana joins achievements of the modern medicine, traditional Far Eastern medicine and knowledge and experience of South American Indians. The method is a combination of: face, foot and hand neuro-reflex therapy, muscular therapy, ‘brains gymnastics’, music therapy and a proper diet.
Temprana therapists do not use any tools, needles, etc. Using their own hands, they stimulate acupuncture points, nerve terminalis, and muscles. The nervous system is a dynamic, constantly changing system. We know that neural networks develop throughout our entire live. Appropriate stimulation accelerates regeneration of nervous system structures. Techniques used in Temprana also influence the functioning of the hormonal system. The therapy does not interfere with any medical procedures.
The main objective of Temprana is to achieve a significant improvement in disorders arising from problems and damages occurred during delivery or in connection with chronic diseases. Temprana Therapy is recommended among others in the following: cerebrovascular diseases, epilepsy, chronic brain damages, neuro-motor disorders, diseases of hypothalamus, autism, muscular dystrophies, multiple sclerosis, metabolic diseases, vision, hearing and speech disorders. Temprana reduces hyperactivity, stress and anxiety, improves intellectual and emotional functions, and that is why it is successive in children with learning problems.
The method was created by the Danish reflexologist Lone Sorensen who gained experience during 37 years of therapeutic work in different countries. Sorensen is the head of the International Facial and Foot Reflexology (Instituto de Reflexologia Facial/Podal Internacional) in Barcelona, Spain. Her working methods were approved in the year 2000 for use in “Filadelfia Kurhuset” Centre, Denmark (a specialized therapeutic centre for patients with brain damage). Lone Sorensen obtained 3 titles of honour from OMHS humanitarian organization for her contribution to development of reflexology in Argentina (March 2001). Sorensen teaches among others in Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Italy, Poland, USA, Canada, Czech Republic and UAE.
A Temprana therapist can plan a long-lasting work with a patient. He frequently involves patients’ relatives in the therapy. Then the relatives treat the patient, in severe cases even every day. Therapies are tailor-made for a given patient. Such form of work can help those living far away from a specialist who would still supervise the therapy. And it can last even as long as several years.
To achieve the effect of the therapy, actions should be taken as quickly as possible after the occurrence of the first symptoms. That is what the name stands for: Terapia Temprana (’early therapy’). The variety of techniques used activates different structures of the organism in order to regain homeostasis. Many techniques used activate different structures of the body in order to regain homeostasis. During the therapy, motor, intellectual skills, senses are improved. In aphasia, we can improve speech by precise stimulation of Broca and Wernicke’s areas. In patients with epilepsy, epileptic fits are less and less frequent. We know patients who thank to Temprana achieved a full therapeutic success: they do not take antiepileptic drugs, and have no symptoms of epilepsy. We know cases of autistic children who could normally function thanks to Temprana Therapy. In genetic syndromes it gives a chance to fully use the patient’s potentials and skills. Situations were described where neither therapists nor doctors or rehabilitants expect in their dreams such significant improvement of health as achieved thanks to Temprana (see below).
The therapy helps improve the condition of health and quality of life for patients and their relatives, reduces the burden of pharmacological treatment, helps in school and educational problems. The truth is Temprana may be used in each problem a child has. Of course, a very individualized approach is needed.
Temprana has been successfully used by dozens of therapists in Scandinavia, USA, UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Mexico, Japan, in the Middle East and in Poland. You can find more information about this therapy in English at: www.temprana.org/uk temprana 1.pdf
Factors immensely important in Temprana Therapy:
John Patrick, Dawid, Ernest, Hussein, Mariusz and others
Robert Włodzimierz Przybyś is the Polish Temprana therapist with the longest experience (diploma in Temprana obtained in the middle of 2009). An exceptional experience for participants to training in Copenhagen (2008), in which he took place, was a meeting with John Patrick with genetic disorder. For several years after he was born, he could hardly see. Thanks to therapy conducted by his mother, the boy regained his sight (Film about John Patrick; Lone Sorensen about therapy of John Patrick; below is a description of the therapy drawn up in English by the boy’s mother);
The great effectiveness of this method was proved in the case of 6-year old Dawid with right-side paresis treated by Robert W. Przybyś. After only 5 treatments, the spastic tension of the muscle of his hand disappeared. Soon after the boy was in the mountains with his parents and … skied (December 2008). At that time, Dawid did not undergo any other therapy which would explain such spectacular change.
Ernest, a three-year old boy, had an ischemic cerebral stroke in the first days of his life. Before the treatments, his head and eyes constantly looked left. He hardly moved his right hand. He also had infantile convulsions. After several weeks of therapy involving his parents, a great improvement was visible. After 23 months, the only visible symptom is a weaker right hand. After a couple of months his doctor decided that administration of anticonvulsant medicines is no longer needed. The parents repeat the opinions of specialists who are surprised that with such extensive changes in his brain, the boy is so fit.
Hussein (Oman, now 9) in early years of his life had operation of a cancer in the in the lumbar spine section. The operation caused damage to cord’s nerves, which resulted in loss of feeling in his left leg and no control of physiological needs. After 6 months of therapy conducted by his parents, the boy moves fingers of the left foot and goes to the toilet. (2012; the film about Temprana Therapy in Oman)
Another example is therapy of Mariusz (9) who was treated because of developmental dyslexia. After several months of treatments, his school results significantly improved. His Mother told me in September 2009: “Before the therapy, he made five errors in one word, and now only one.” Mariusz made progress in Maths. He has wide interests.
Helena (4 years) Symptoms: sensory, coordination disturbances, significant delay in development of speech, autistic features. After three months of Temprana Therapy: the previously mute child spoke many words, but did not create sentences, put together puzzles (could not do it before); coordination of movements improved. After further 5 months: Helena creates simple sentences, autistic features were completely eliminated.
Sometimes even the first treatment can give great results. It was the case of autistic Kasia (19). After several treatments, she started to syllabicate, embraced her relatives, played ball with her brother.
Temprana is also successfully used in adult diseases. Robert Przybyś takes care, as a therapist, of Monika nearly from the very first symptoms of MS. After three years Monika runs a normal life. Now she is a mum. Regularly repeated medical examinations confirm her very good condition.
Józef came with disturbances of speech and memory caused by Parkinson’s disease. At the very beginning he had problems with construction of a compound sentence. After 4 months of therapy, he fluently told full stories. His memory improved. For several years he has been in contact with the therapist. In spite of rare treatments now, his condition is satisfactory.
Bożena had operationally removed big cancer lesions (breasts and ovaries). Because of distance from Warsaw, Temprana Therapy was used. The patient’s sister worked every day with the patient. In spite of intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy, the patient was fine, she did not lose her hair. Test results are within the standard.
Dorota with Churg-Strauss syndrome came to the therapist after two years of treatment with steroids and immunosuppressive drugs. The symptoms do not end, and the patient significantly put on weight and cataract occurred. After 8 treatments of face and foot reflexology, the results of blood tests radically improved. (December 2012)
Temprana does not interfere with therapies of conventional medicine. It produces no negative side effects. Temprana therapists do not question medical recommendations and opt for full cooperation with medical doctors. Patients of Robert W. Przybyś (e.g. the above-mentioned Ernest) use also other forms of rehabilitation.
